After not being able to take down a moose after one shot, John Nosler began thinking of a way to make a bullet that would provide ultimate stopping power and performance every time. The result was a dual core bullet that came to be known as the Partition and led to the formation of the Nosler Partition Bullet Company in1948. The next bullet to be produced by Nosler was the Solid Base bullet which featured a solid base and tapered jacket and led to the creation of the Solid Base varmint and target bullets. In the early 1980s, Nosler set out to design a bullet that would combine the expansion and penetration of the Solid Base bullet with the accuracy of a match bullet and the ability to resist recoil-induced deformation in the magazine. The outcome was the Nosler Ballistic Tip, an incredibly accurate bullet with a polymer tip that is color coded by caliber. Today, Nosler makes a number of different bullets for rifles, handguns, muzzleloaders and shotgun slugs.
The Partition was the first bullet to be produced by Nosler Bullets and has since become the bullet of choice for big game hunters around the world.
